Truly lean and mean, the Sapphire collection of VSPro modules contains some of the newest top of the line recorded material at Kirk Hunter Studios. Every Sapphire Instrument has been carefully programmed to get the most playability possible. With such new programming innovations as intervaLive®, Human Pitch Correction, Keyswitching and Round Robin, you'll find new levels of creativity and realism in your musical projects that were never possible before. And don't be fooled by the low price of these modules. In sheer expression and musicality, these samples surpass anything out there.
As an added bonus, included is pre-programmed convolution reverb in most of the instruments. And it is also conveniently installed in the included Kontakt multies. These multies are designed to be great sounding "load and go" orchestras ready for you to start your music right NOW!
For Logic users, there are songs containing these multies pre-programmed for you in a multi-timbral K2 instance so you don't have to deal with the difficulty of setting up a new audio object. (Requires at least 350MB of RAM for loading of the samples.)
Symphony Orchestra Sapphire is designed to be a truly amazing sounding, extremely playable symphonic sample library for those on a budget. However, Symphony Orchestra Sapphire is by NO MEANS a "bargain basement" item! The programming is exactly the same as the top-of-the-line VSPro Diamond or Ruby Packages, and uses the same samples*. So what's the difference?
Sample Count - Most of the difference comes from the reduced sample count. But careful programming was used to get the very best sound from the reduced number of samples. For example, in Ruby, almost every instrument was sampled chromatically, that is to say, every note was recorded to avoid pitch-stretching. So while Sapphire does indeed use this pitch-stretching, it is most always only a half tone, and some instances a whole tone. Additionally, Diamond and Ruby use quite a few velocity layers, sometimes as many as 8. Sapphire usually reduces the velocity layers significantly, yet without loss of expression.
VSPro Modules Included - While Sapphire has quite a respectable roster of sections for you, (in fact, the most useful orchestral sections are all included) it does not include such things as muted strings, muted brass, and others that are not considered quite as popular.
In this price range, you cannot get a better symphonic sound set as Symphony Orchestra Sapphire!
